About The Artist
My name
is Stephanie and I have been a professional artist since 1994. This has
included painting murals, designing, creating and installing mosaics and
showing and selling original oil and acrylic paintings.
I have
a BA in Visual Arts from Naropa University in Boulder Colorado. I began
my business while in college. I have painted murals in Boulder, Co.,
Cambridge, MA. and in Dallas as far as east as Canton and as far north
as McKinney.
So, my
life is art. I love every aspect of it. I am also a people person,
sort of a rarity; I’ve been told as an artist. My love is to create
environments for people to thrive in. The creation of a room for a
newborn to spend his/hers first days in this life is an incredible gift
to me. Progressing with children to create environments where they can
feel safe, learn, use there imaginations and just be kids, seeing the
joy in their expressions when they see their new rooms it amazing and a
gift from the parents. The teen years, crazy, fun, cool rooms that their
friends will want to hang out in-so get ready. Adults, creating refuge
for de-stressing, creating a scene from a favorite trip, crating an
Italian, French or Spanish theme through faux finish. Making a
statement with a stained glass or tile mosaic fireplace or kitchen
backsplash. It is a gift and a joy and I am thankful everyday that I
have been given a talent that I can share and inspire with.
My
paintings have been in several juried shows and galleries in California,
Dallas, Boulder and Cambridge. Currently my mosaic art can be seen in
the Dallas Design District at
ALAN BARNES FINE ART
1019 Slocum St,
Dallas 75407, 214-749-7979.
My
mosaics work is also found in restaurants as well as private homes. In
addition I do custom decorative mirrors, trays and other items for
BE
DAZZLED at
The Shops of Legacy in Plano, Texas.,972-378-3211. They
specialize in hand painted children’s items, custom bedding and so much
more!
I have
also taught art in workshops, adult continuing education and the usage
of art in clinical settings such as social work with children, battered
women, Alzheimer’s patients and the mentally ill. In the near future I
am planning on beginning private one-on-one and group art lessons for
children.
I enjoy
going to anything art related, I have a deep love and regard for nature,
animals, children, teens, adults.
Thank
you for taking the time to get to know me a bit. Please let me know
what you think and if you are in need of any of the services I offer.
Kindest
Regards,
