The Mural Process
These
are the steps it takes to commission a mural,
Faux finish, mosaic or oil painting from
Murals, Mosaics & More!
Step One: To set up a free initial design consultation call
469-556-3965
or
email
me
Step Two: First Meeting
This meeting will last approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour.
During this meeting we will take a look at the space, discuss your
ideas, color schemes, budget and determine exactly what you are desiring
for the area. Once I have a sense of what you want I will proceed to
research and create sketches or sample boards based on our discussion.
For my service in this area I require a fee of $100. At this time we
set a second date to review the sketches and to provide a quote for the
project.
(50% of the
sketch fee will be deducted from the price of your project when we
proceed!)
Step Three: Second Meeting
At our second meeting I will present the sketches or sample boards. For
faux finishes three sample boards will be provided
(for each
additional sample board a fee of $20 is required).
If you are pleased with the design sketches and/or sample boards as well
as the quote for the project we will move forward to a contract. (If
major revisions of sketches are required an additional $100 fee will be
needed, again with 50% deducted from the price of your project. Small
revisions will be free.)
When we go to contract, I ask for 50% of the total, less the $50 refund
from sketch deposit, to secure the date we set on the calendar and to
cover supply cost.
(All
cost associated with the project i.e. Taxes, supplies etc. are included
in the quote.)
The remaining 50% of the contract is payable on the day the project is
completed. (We accept cash, checks, money orders, Visa and MasterCard.)
Step Four:
Preparation of space for project.
Before I can begin, I will ask that, dependant on the project and the
space needed to work, you to accommodate me in different ways. This
might mean clearing furniture out of the room, moving furniture out from
the wall, removing items from walls and having all nails removed holes
spackled etc. Clearing off counter tops, removing curtains etc…
The reasons for this are that I need to be able to stand back from the
work to get proper perspective, being able to move freely ensures you a
clean, defined piece of artwork. I thank you in advance for working
with me on this and has always I am flexible.
(We also prep,
spackle and paint a base coat if you request for a nominal fee!)
Step Five: Ready to Create Your Project
The project begins on the date we set. The time for a project will be
between 1 and 21 days to complete, dependant on the complexity of the
project. I will give you an estimated time for your specific project.
I am flexible in terms of times and days I can work on your project. I
prefer to start a project and work consecutively until it is complete.
I can assure you that I am prompt, work diligently and respect your home
or work place as if it were my own. I have worked on many projects
while my client is out of the home and have references in regard to
this; in addition I am insured.
While creating the work, if you request major chances there will be an
additional fee, small additions or changes will be free of charge. Once
I have completed the project I will see that you are completely pleased,
I will clean up, pack up and let you enjoy your new art, whether it be a
mural, faux finish, painting or mosaic. Payment is due at this time.
(Payment
Plans can be arranged before hand, considered on an individual basis.)
Step Five: ENJOY!
